- Conduct artificial insemination and spraying or shearing of livestock or disinfecting pens, barns or poultry houses
- Consider water saturation, light and temperature when planning for crop growth and development

The Department
Our NWP farm is home to a commercial and purebred cattle herd and a sheep flock. It supports the Veterinary Science program and offers research opportunities.
The Role
To carry out general farm duties including:
- Care of animals (feeding watering, monitoring for signs of illness)
- Maintenance of facility,
- Maintenance of farm equipment,
- During winter months, lambing and calving shifts
- Spring/Summer field work and hay production for feed,
- Working with Veterinary Technology program to set up student labs
- Other duties as required.

Job Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will need the following experience and skills to be successful in this role:
- Be in good physical condition with the ability to lift 25 kilograms to undertake manual labor,
- Ability to work a flexible schedule & work in unpredictable weather conditions,
- Must be mature, responsible and a self-starter who may have to work unsupervised but also can take direction,
- Assist in mechanical repairs and infrastructure maintenance,
- Preference given to an individual with experience working in agriculture with some livestock experience,
- Applicant should have a current class 5 driver’s license,
- Aable to maintain the facility and environment.
- Maintain professionalism, communicate, and be a supportive mentor to students and faculty.
