Full job description
Harvest time is a very busy time and we employ many fruit pickers and orchard staff during this period. Mainly backpackers. The work can be physically demanding at times due to the heat in December which can get to temperatures of over 30 degrees. Sensible light long sleeved clothing and a wide brimmed hat should be worn and workers should carry sufficient drinking water and apply sunscreen. Our summers can be hot! Our days start early to beat the heat and we have an amenities block and campsite so you can freshen up at the end of a hard days’ work.
Camping is available to our fruit pickers on request, depending on availability and suitability. It is best if you are travelling in a van or vehicle which can also be used as accommodation. We have kitchen facilities on site so you can store and cook your food. Our orchard and camping site is only a short 5 minute drive to town.

Mixed Production Farm Worker Urgent Hiring

About the Company
Balmoral Farms is a diversified agricultural business operating across three primary production sectors: aquaculture, crop production, and livestock farming. We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Mixed Production Farm Worker to support daily farm operations across aquaculture, cropping, and livestock activities.
Location: Burren Junction, NSW 2386
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $75,000 – $85,000 + Super (depending on experience)
Key Duties:
· Carry out regular checks on crops and livestock, identifying any issues and reporting them as required
· Use farm equipment and machinery to support activities such as soil preparation, planting, crop treatment, and harvesting
· Assist in the upkeep of farm facilities, including cleaning and maintaining sheds, fencing, irrigation systems, and other infrastructure
· Handle and transport farming inputs such as seeds, fertilisers, and animal feed, as well as preparing produce for dispatch
· Monitor and manage irrigation and water distribution systems to ensure optimal crop growth
· Provide daily care to livestock, including feeding, watering, and supporting feeding schedules
· Assist in maintaining animal health and general welfare through routine care and observation
· Support the movement of livestock between paddocks and operational areas to ensure proper grazing and farm workflow
· Contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of mixed farming operations across aquaculture, crops, and livestock.
Skills & Requirements
· Previous experience of one year in farming, agriculture, or related field preferred
· Ability to operate basic farm machinery and equipment
· Understanding of livestock handling and crop production processes
· Physically fit and able to work in outdoor environments
· Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and in a team
· Basic understanding of farm safety and biosecurity practices
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
