Do you love food and life on the road? Then you’ll have a great time behind the wheel as one of our Online Drivers, delivering our groceries and cheerful, friendly service to our online customers.
As one of our Online Drivers, you’ll be focused on delivering our customers’ shopping on time and in excellent condition and offering them a brilliant service. That could be ensuring they’re greeted with a smile on the doorstep, professionally dealing with their queries, or informing them of any delays. It’s a hands-on job, but also one that makes you the face of Sainsbury’s, so you’ll take pride in doing the right thing for customers. You’ll also need to be comfortable lifting and moving online containers of up to 15kg. When you’re not out on the road, you’ll be helping out in the store.
You’ll be fully licensed to drive, but we’ll offer you further coaching to drive one of our delivery vehicles. For insurance purposes, you have to be over 18 and have held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months and with no more than 6 points on it. We’ll ask you to complete an online driving risk assessment as part of your interview, and if you’re successful, there’ll be a driving assessment when you join us.

Starting salary of £24,210 (£12.21 per hour) increasing to £25,679 (£12.95 per hour), on completion of 6 month probation period. Plus, an additional supplement of £824 per annum pro rota, nightshift allowance and excellent benefits (based on a 38 hour full time week).
You could earn a total package of circa £30,000 per annum, including excellent benefits (based on a 38 hour full time week with overtime).
Contract Type: Fixed Term
Working hours: 16 Saturday only hours per week with opportunity for overtime. Typical attendance is Saturday & Sunday, 08:00 – 15:36.

First things first, you’ll start your day by planning your delivery route and carrying out safety checks on your vehicle. Then you’ll be busy collecting and delivering parcels to households and businesses. About you
Naturally friendly, you’re a positive and proactive person looking for a long-term career in an ambitious and growing company. It’s important that you’re able to lift and carry parcels weighing up to 30kg.
It’s essential that you have a full UK manual driving licence (in your current UK address) covering up to 3.5 tonnes (Cat B). In an ideal world you’ll have a clean licence but it definitely shouldn’t have more than 6 penalty points. And, just so you know, you’ll be required to show your licence at your assessment.
