Yougawalla Pastoral Company is an aggregation of cattle stations across the incredible Kimberley region. We are seeking motivated and hardworking Station Hands to join our team. These roles offer a fantastic opportunity to join an exciting industry leading company. Station Hands are based at either Moola Bulla, Bulka, Margaret River and Shamrock Stations and are offered an exciting opportunity to work across the Company aggregation of cattle stations in the heart of the Kimberley region.
Station Hands assist with day-to-day operations of the station, including livestock handling, mustering, property maintenance, and general station duties.
Responsibilities
Livestock management:
o Mustering cattle predominantly with motorbikes (2 wheelers).
o Yard work including drafting, branding, and animal health treatments.
o Monitoring water points and feed availability.
o Providing livestock with feed and water and implementing livestock feeding and welfare programs.
Property maintenance:
o Fencing repairs and construction.
o Upkeep of station infrastructure (yards, sheds, accommodation).
- Operate machinery and tools safely.
- Assist with station projects and seasonal work.
- Contribute to a valued team environment.
- Support and contribute to a positive health and safety culture.
- Comply with all requirements of work health and safety legislation and station health and safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- At least one year of full-time work experience as a Station Hand.
- Ability to ride motorbikes safely.
- Current manual drivers licence.
- Ability to live and work in a remote location.
- Willingness to work long hours during peak seasons.
- Physically fit and able to work in remote, hot, dusty conditions.
- Team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Adequate skills and knowledge in WHS matters.
- A strong work ethic and commitment to working safely.
- Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Experience riding 2-wheel motor bikes.
- A genuine passion for cattle and station life.
- Practical skills in fencing, welding, and mechanical repairs.
- Current advanced first aid certificate.
- HR Licence.
- MC Licence.
